Our honeymoon destination was Santorini, Greece. It is a wonderful and intimate island full of history and romance. It has been said that the sunsets in Santorini are the best in the world. The island offers breathtaking views from every angle. Small blue domed churches seen everywhere are remnants of days gone by. The color of the sea and sky are one of blue richness. Mythology is part of this islands ancient history. This island has a dramatic and mysterious beauty.

Choosing a Honeymoon Destination
Choosing and planning your honeymoon should be the fun part of your wedding planning process. A honeymoon is like any other vacation, except on this one you really don't want anything to go wrong. And of course, it has to be romantic.

The hotel we stayed in is called Oia Mare Villas. All the rooms have magnificent views of the Aegean Sea and the known Oia sunsets. Pictured below is a photo of the hotel.

Wedding Bands
The circular wedding bands symbolize eternity...it has no beginning and it has no end, like time. The empty space is not to be disregarded because this also has a deep meaning. It represents a gateway, a door, perhaps leading to the known and unknown.
When choosing our wedding bands, we wanted to keep tradition strong. We chose plain gold bands which have exactly the same style. Dating back to history, bands which looked identical symbolized a union...two rings are actually One. This idea still remains actual in our time.

Wedding bands are chose personally by the couple. They can be gold or platinum, engraved or plain, embellished with stones or solid. So many choices...

The Shoes!
Choosing the shoes for your wedding is almost as important as the gown. Everything needs to be in sync. The fabric of the shoe should match the fabric of your gown as well as the color...it's not a bad idea to take a swatch of your fabric when buying your shoes. Comfort is important as well, but let's face it ladies...not many pumps out there are comfortable.
My wedding started at two in the afternoon and came to an end around four in the morning. I have to admit my feet held up nicely and no, I did not change into sandals. I danced all night long in my perfect Cinderella heels!
I would like to tell all the brides out there about this lovely wedding footwear collection from designer Grace. The shoe I chose is the first one in the left upper corner.

The Gown!
The wedding gown is by far the most important purchase for the bride. For the bride, more than the groom, it is Her Big Day! Will it be sleek or full, modern or chic, fancy or simply elegant-the choice depends on the personality and style of the bride.
As for my personality, I like to consider my self as the elegant and yet with a trendy edge. I knew my gown had to be lacy. I love lace....it has a very romantic appearance which suits the occasion. My original choice was a Monique Lhuillier gown, but the price of the gown was completley out of my budget. So I looked around for something similar and to my surprise found the perfect wedding gown by designer Pronovias.
It was lacy, sleek and elegant. The lacy top was removable so when the party started...I went sleeve less.

Other lacy gowns I love...

Welcome to Wedding Blossoms!

Hi! Since this is my first blog entry I am choosing to write about my own wedding day, in fact I will dedicate this entire week to my wedding.
June 24th, 2006 was the day I married my perfect husband! We are both from Poland and we met here in the U.S.A. It is amazing how life creates some many twists and turns. We decided to get married in Poland and I have to admit, my wedding was somewhat of a fairytale.
This day was the most memorable day in my life. Although the BEST day of my life was when I realized I was in LOVE! What an amazing feeling! My wish to all of the brides-to-be is so that all of you experience this awesome adventure!
Take a look at this photo. Yes, that palace in the background is where our reception took place. Palace in Kobylniki, Poland.
