Violet Wedding Project at Blossom Accents.

This is a glimpse of detail involved with creating wedding invitations and coordinating accessories at Blossom Accents.

Violet and Purple Theme Wedding

Royal purple is having a fashion moment this season. Anything from hues of grape, plum, bright violets, amethysts and pink mauves. With so many colors to choose from , it is impossible not be chick during a Royal Purple Wedding. Purple is in a way a "adult like" pink, offers softer shades of purple which are romantic without being too cute and childish. Although don't get me wrong, I love PINK!

In the Chinese culture, purple is a color of luck, wealth and prosperity. Elegant and symbolic color of royalty. Seductive and mysterious.

A very sophisticated yet very sexy A-line dress with a frosted violet sash at the waist from Lazaro.
Ivory beaded and embroidered silk organza trumpet gown with pleated tulle ruffle accents, chapel train from Lazaro. Pictured with a light hue of amazingly beautiful light violet roses.

I couldn't resist posting these to die for Dolce Gabbana Shoes! What a great accessory to a bridesmaids cocktail dress. Although a bit pricey... worth the post. Look at these in more detail in Neiman Marcus.

A very royal table setting.... very romantic appearance. Image from Project Wedding by Neil Adams Event Resources.
Gorgeous splash of royal rose bouquets. Image taken from Allen King Photagraphy.

Gerbera Daisy... Coming to Blossom Accents.

I love gerbera daisies. They come in all sorts of colors and they are fairly inexpensive.... they are cheerful and happen to be a popular choice among many brides. They signify purity and innocence. My recent drawing of two lovely pink gerbera daisies will soon become a hopefully great invitation design. Any suggestions for coordinating colors of paper?

What type of bride are you?

Complexity of human emotion and expectation at the cross roads of fantasy and reality coupled with considerations of tradition, propriety, sensuality and fashion, all captured in one dress. It isn't easy. While a woman has feelings of self-perception for every facet of love, today she has more possibilities. Rules are vanishing. Bareness is no longer a taboo, and veils are not required. Freedom and invention are aroused!

The Traditionalist
She looks beyond fashion to style. This may involve careful assessment of all her features, strengths and flaws and how she can make them work to her best advantage. Everything she wears conveys a distinct message of confidence. Style icon like Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Jacqueline Kennedy. They all expressed an effortless elegance in what they wore. In reality, they were only true to themselves-unique women with their own take on style. Gown decoration should be distinctive yet understated, as with hand-tied bows, fabric-covered buttons, delicate lace trims or subtle embroidery. Always relevant and timeless.

The Modernist
Sense of daring is always implied. Often rigorous or highly exaggerated, it also indicates a style of dress that requires thought. Blending textures and shapes is a trademark of a bride who always look toward the future. Her dress is more like an art. It demands great intellect and energy to be a Modernist.

The Sensualist
She is obsessed with experiencing pleasure in every part of her life. A wedding gown should seduce and adorn. She doesn't wear the dress, she experiences it. She delights in her body and revels in her powers of seduction. Physical sensitivity guides her sense of style. Fabric should drape and fall suggestively against her skin with nothing to confine, restrict or bind. Luxury and extravagance equal sensuality.

The Individualist
Her desire for self-expression transcends all other considerations. She will go to any length to make a fashion statement. Personal expression is key. This may translate into a choice of an unusual color or a more unexpected silhouette. Head-strong and opinionated, she wears her individuality like a badge of honor. Although she may not set trends, she is most definitely not a follower.

The Romanticist
She is ruled by higher passions than the reality around her. She considers life a adventure. She is transported by a dress. For her fantasy is always a reality. Her innate femininity and love of beauty can inspire a gown of great fragility and enchantment. Delicate ruffles, billowing sleeves, or a lavish fully bustled train are only some of the details that create a romantic gown. Flirtation and femininity are her preferred tools of seduction. She embraces them equally.

Wedding Lingerie... Entiise Lingerie

Veronica Castro of Entiise Lingerie has always loved to hear bride's life stories. She has created Entiise Lingerie out of her love for the fairytale wedding. Lingerie is the one last item before the end of the most memorable day that keeps the fairytale fun and alive.
"Lingerie is so much more than sexy, it's the undisclosed article of clothing you are wearing that gives you a great shape under your clothes, adds the perfect umph to that favorite top, or dress."

What's your favorite mental escape?

Life today is extremely full of responsibilities and distractions. It's essential for all of us to rejuvenate from time to time. Eating a balanced diet combined with regular exercise is half the battle. But for those of us whom multi-tasking is a way of life, this can be easier said than done.

I am grateful I have a hobby which is drawing. It forces me to break away from the computer, the phone and all other stressors or responsibilities. It's almost like meditation.

For others, power naps, bubble baths, yoga or drinking a glass of red wine offers the same benefits. What's your favorite mental escape?

Alvina Valenta designs some of the most feminine and fabulous gowns out there in the wedding fashionista world. I even bought one for a non-weddig event.

Temptalia is a awesome site to learn some great makeup tips. Check out this extravagant eye make-up completed with MAC cosmetics. And a classy clutch from Isabella's Bags.

Carrying the bride over the threshold.

Where did this tradition come from? Ancients believed in a final last effort evil spirits could curse the couple while hovered at the threshold of their new home. So to prevent this curse, the bride had to be lifted to ensure evil spirits would not enter her body through the soles of her feet.

Another belief is if the bride stumbled or tripped while stepping onto her new house they would both be cursed with bad luck. So, to be on the safe side, the groom would carry her into the new house.

Today it is more for fun and a great photo if captured.

Something old...

Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue.

Something Old represents the bride's connection with her family and the past.

Something New represents good fortune and success in the bride's new life ahead.

Something Borrowed represents the bride's friend's and family her, faithful supporters.

Something Blue represents faithfulness and loyalty.

One of the few precious belongings I have of my late Mom is this simple and elegant gold ring from her twenties. It was the one she enjoyed the most. I decided to wear this ring for my wedding day as Something Old. Although her presence was terribly missed, I had this gentle reminder of her during the most memorable day of my life.

Wedding related stress.

May the stress come 10 months before your wedding or the day before the big day, all of us can drink some incredibly soothing chamomile tea to relieve stress related thoughts. The benefits of chamomile flowers are endless. One of the major actions of chamomile flowers is the sedative effect it provides. By relaxing your muscles and sedating your nervous thoughts a good night sleep is very near in sight. The muscle relaxant quality comes especially handy during menstruation easing those stubborn cramps.

So forget the late night chit chat with your bridesmaids. Jump into your tub for a warm and calming bubble bath. Afterwards grab a lovely and soothing cup of chamomile tea and enjoy a long night of good beauty sleep. To view more benefits of chamomile visit Life Script.
