Cloudy Landscape, Original Artwork
I'm really enjoying all the colors that are found in the sky. Every type of weather has a completely unique palette of colors and matching them can be very torturous yet a rewarding challenge.

Lake Erie Painting, Original Artwork
I especially love the sky in this small original painting. It's so moody yet it's completely beautiful. There's a section of the sky that is still bright and sunny with some tones of pink and purple. The rest is stormy darkness moving in on Lake Erie. Enjoy!

Vintage Book Art Prints
I had so much fun with this experiment! I printed some of my artwork on old vintage pages of a book and I think they look awesome! I may offer some of these in my future art shop. In the mean time please let me know if you have any questions.

Making some original art!
I'm really enjoying the process of painting. To see a blank canvas become a painting is such as great process. Matching the colors to fit the mood you want to convey to the viewer is so thrilling. I can not wait to see what the next canvas will hold.

Bouquet of Lilacs Original Painting
I've been really getting into some major painting lately. Just recently I finished another floral painting of purple and white lilacs with a burst of yellow billy balls. I'm really happy with the result! The texture and movement is fantastic. The colors are a little more muted than I'm used to but that makes me enjoy it even more. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Floral Original Painting
Here is a variation to the prior painting. The color are still full of contrast but the bouquet is on a lighter background color which still makes everything pop! I really love this piece and it looks amazing on a light blue or greige wall! If you're interested in purchasing this piece or in a custom piece, please let me know. Flower painting available for purchase in my Etsy shop.

Blossom Art: My Art and My Story
Art has been a part of my life since I can remember. Even as a child, I remember asking my mom to take me to the art museum to look at all the paintings. Art in a way is my best friend, something that puts me a in a calm state of mind when I need it or not. Anyone that knows me, will tell you I LOVE flowers! Flowers have naturally become my favorite subject to draw, paint or photograph!
All the invitations start with my sketchbook and my pink pencil box! I usually have an idea of what the artwork will look like, but sometimes something completely unexpected appears on paper, a fun and exciting process. I feel so lucky to be able to share my art with brides and grooms from all over the world! Thank you all so much for taking a look!
... and one of my favorite quotes truly meaningful to me "A work of art which did not begin in emotion is not art" Paul Cezanne

On the Drawing Pad at Blossom Accents: Cherry Blossoms Part I
I am starting a new feature on the blog today called "On the Drawing Pad at Blossom Accents". I will show the process it takes to create an invitation at Blossom Accents starting with the sketch to the finished drawing and then to the final product. I hope you enjoy it!
When my client Maryanne contacted me about this project, I became really excited!! I have wanted to draw these blossoms but I was waiting for a right time and a push to actually draw them! They are small delicate blossoms which grow on short cherry trees around April and May. They are extremely beautiful to look at and adore! Some interesting fact about these blossoms which originated in China.

The flower symbolism associated with the cherry blossom is education. In China, the cherry blossom is also a symbol of feminine beauty. It also represents the feminine principle and love. In Japan, cherry blossoms symbolize the transience of life because of their short blooming times. Falling blossoms are metaphors for fallen warriors who died bravely in battle. source
Stay tuned for the next step....

What's happening at Blossom Accents!!??
Recently the studio is busy with hydrangeas! These beauties are a lot of work due to all those tiny yet gorgeous flowers all bunched up in one big puff! This process looks a little something like this....

Sketching, drawing, erasing, hand cramping :).... but all so worth it!!
Sometimes I even get a hand from clients!!! Notice the fabric swatch, the save the date copy and there's more where that came from. All these little inspirations then evolve into an invitation! Now that's a custom made invitation for ya! Everything is done with heart, love and passion for art!!!
And the artwork comes to an end. Peaches, pinks and moss greens were the foundation colors of this design. Now it is time for phase two.... the INVITATION!!! Thanks for looking. Enjoy!!!
It starts with me drawing the blossoms by hand with fine art color pencils. This is actually the easy part! The hard part is the composition, colors used, blossom view etc.

Hydrangea Drawing
Here is a sneak peak into the upcoming hydrangea invitation design!
This blossom is so intricate, that I decided to take my time with this one. I think it was well worth it. I am much more happy with this artwork than the prior hydrangea I drew about a year ago. This one has the deserved bounce and fluff this particular blossom needs!
