Color of the Year-Radiant Orchid

Pantone a world-renowned authority on color just announced the color of the year and I couldn't be more excited about the choice-Radiant Orchid.

I actually drew this artwork for a client towards the end of 2013 and shortly after Pantone made the color announcement. Perfect! I designed the Radiant Orchid suite using the beautiful undertone color combinations of the orchid artwork. I'm extremely happy with the result. Meet a Blossom Accents Bride! Angie and Richie Part Two

Angie and Richie wanted to announce their wedding in Miami style-reflecting the palm trees, tropical flowers and beautiful colors of the sun and ocean. I created a colorful invite with a bold tropical hibiscus blossom.

The invitations for the wedding ceremony and reception reflected Angie's bouquet and reception centerpieces. I am in love with her bouquet! Romantic and gorgeous!!

The white orchids were drawn to coordinate with the theme of the party. Printed on heavy textured off-white paper with a subtle brown border to accentuate the artwork. All invitations in the Spanish language.

Green Orchid Wedding Invitations - New in the Studio!

These invitations are created for Paula. She contacted me back in July curious to know if I would be able to draw some green orchids! Of course I said- "would love to!" and I got to work.

I love how the artwork turned out. The green is so fresh and eye catching! In the photos you will also see the original drawing and my favorite Prismacolor pencils.

Brown, Cream, Moss Green Wedding Inspiration

Brown, cream and green hughes are elegant and gentle. I really love this color combination because it's so naturally beautiful. In the rustic style or the royal setting-these colors will always deliver the right atmosphere.

White Orchid Wedding Invitations-First Design of 2011

Like everyone, I have many New Years resolutions! One of them being to stay focused & determined to do the things I wish to accomplish and the other to produce a lot of ART, especially for Blossom Accents! So, to start the New Year, I introduce to you the first design of 2011:

THE White Orchids

White Orchids carry the meaning of love and beauty. I hope to create many designs this year of 2011 which elicit these two words in others thoughts and impressions. I think these orchids capture this feeling exactly.

And of course, none of this would be possible without my wonderful and very creative clients who inspire many of these pieces, such as below. Thank you.

The studio has been busy with many things! Some new and some old! I'm very excited to announce the new addition to Wedding Blossoms Blog!

Blossom Accents Bride!!

Courtney and I have been working on her Orchid Beauty stationery since August of 2009. Starting with her Save the Dates for her wedding which took place in gorgeous St.Lucia!! Then of course her invitations and Courtney couldn't resist to go ahead and get even more orchid beauties for the reception such as menus, programs, place cards and table cards. How did the two of you meet?

No fairytale story here! We met randomly on St. Patrick's Day (yes, before any drinking was done LOL!)
How did he propose?
In the typical nonchalant Kendall kind of way...2 days before Christmas (he said he couldn't wait any longer!) in the middle of our kitchen while I was putting away the groceries : )

Describe your wedding day in three words.

Blissful, colorful, and intimate (I had to narrow it down!! very hard to do!)

Describe the theme of the wedding.

Tropical chic!

Describe your wedding flowers.

GORGEOUS! fuchsia/purple orchids, fuchsia/green roses, purple/fuchsia alstromerias, green/purple anthuriums, green spider mums.

Most memorable moment of the day?

When our eyes met for the first time walking down the aisle at the ceremony.

What was the biggest challenge you faced when planning the wedding?

Planning it all online and from a distance. Destination weddings aren't necessarily any easier if you're someone who likes to see things in person first before making a decision.

The funniest moment?

Kendall climbing on benches right before the ceremony trying to get a sneak peek at me while I was waiting in the bridal car.

Suggestions to future brides.

It's all about you and your husband to be. Plan a wedding to satisfy yourselves and reflect your personalities. You can't please everyone. If you're passionate about your decisions you make and it makes you happy it will show. And it's all in the details, your guests will take notice!

What's in the near future for the two of you as a married couple?

Taking it day by day, being the best husband and wife we can be to each other, and nurturing our love for each other so we can grow old together.

What's going on in the Studio at Blossom Accents!?

There have been a few new projects here at the studio...

The Cymbidium Orchid Invitation Suite project started a few months back and has finally come to an end. They have been shipped, delivered and accepted with excitement! Look what the mother of the groom had to say about these...

Also something out of the Blossom Accents comfort zone... A cocktail girl invitation! A friend of mine was insisting I create something like this for her-I tried to persuade her to choosing a flower but this is what we created instead. Not bad for a first-huh? What do you think?

Orchid Wedding Invitations-Updated Look!

Cleveland city has many unique corners-especially around University Circle near the museums, universities, galleries, restaurants, parks and more... I needed to find bright sunny spot yet somewhat artsy in a sense, to snap a few photos of the updated Orchid Beauty invitation suite & this is what I found...

Orchid Wedding Invitations-Blossom Accents

What's been happening at Blossom Accents?! This is my first post in May-I can't believe how fast time flies when you're having FUN!

Well to begin I've been putting together and packaging up invitaitons of course... look at his endless line up of Dogwood Invitations...

But most of all, I've been involved with creating a few custom orders one of them being-Cymbidium Orchids! In eloquent rich purple and lavender tones, with an intriguing magenta center! Below you will see the original pencil drawing crated by me.

Below you will see the cymbidium orchid invitation suites. So far just brainstorming... I wonder what the final design will look like??? Stay tuned for updates on Barb's custom order from Blossom Accents!

Orchid Menu and Orchid Program at Blossom Accents

I've been working with Courtney for quite a while now, starting with her Save the Date Cards, then Invitations and now the final details. Courtney's wedding will take place in St. Lucia! So planning ahead was a must for this destination wedding! And of course she's been right on track with all the details-maybe because she's a nurse just like me :-) !!

These two pieces both have the orchid artwork, yet both have a different style/design. I like them both! Hope these accessories bring some pleasant conversations to the dinner table!

Orchid Wedding Invitations

Orchids are one of the more popular and one of the more pricey wedding flowers. So why not and give your guests a stem of orchids in the mail and substitute with something less pricey for the reception.

I really enjoyed creating this set because the colors chosen by the bride are light and bold at the same time. The mulberry adds some contrast with the light silver color. The green adds freshness and a feel of summer or spring perhaps. Please e-mail me if you have any questions about these. Enjoy!
