Floral Original Painting

Here is a variation to the prior painting. The color are still full of contrast but the bouquet is on a lighter background color which still makes everything pop! I really love this piece and it looks amazing on a light blue or greige wall! If you're interested in purchasing this piece or in a custom piece, please let me know. Flower painting available for purchase in my Etsy shop.

Thanks for looking!

Lilac Wedding Invitations: NEW at Blossom Accents!

One of my newest designs is the Lilac Wedding Invitation. It was inspired by a clients vision of pink lilacs hanging in a romantic fashion as a vine. She also has a love for bees since her family is involved in the beekeeping business so she requested a couple of adorable bees on the invitation as well! I think they came out fantastic and are perfect for a spring or summer wedding.

The lilac blossom has a beautiful meaning perfectly appropriate for a wedding:

"FIRST EMOTIONS OF LOVE"

If you have any questions about the Lilac Wedding Invitation suite, please write us an email or give us a call! Almost everything is customizable!

Blossom Art: My Art and My Story

Art has been a part of my life since I can remember. Even as a child, I remember asking my mom to take me to the art museum to look at all the paintings. Art in a way is my best friend, something that puts me a in a calm state of mind when I need it or not. Anyone that knows me, will tell you I LOVE flowers! Flowers have naturally become my favorite subject to draw, paint or photograph!

All the invitations start with my sketchbook and my pink pencil box! I usually have an idea of what the artwork will look like, but sometimes something completely unexpected appears on paper, a fun and exciting process. I feel so lucky to be able to share my art with brides and grooms from all over the world! Thank you all so much for taking a look!

... and one of my favorite quotes truly meaningful to me "A work of art which did not begin in emotion is not art" Paul Cezanne

Meet a Blossom Accents Bride! Angie and Richie Part Two

Angie and Richie wanted to announce their wedding in Miami style-reflecting the palm trees, tropical flowers and beautiful colors of the sun and ocean. I created a colorful invite with a bold tropical hibiscus blossom.

The invitations for the wedding ceremony and reception reflected Angie's bouquet and reception centerpieces. I am in love with her bouquet! Romantic and gorgeous!!

Photographs by JacoPhoto

The white orchids were drawn to coordinate with the theme of the party. Printed on heavy textured off-white paper with a subtle brown border to accentuate the artwork. All invitations in the Spanish language.

In Part Three I will show you photographs from the Ceremony and Reception! Stay tuned and if you missed Part One, take a look at "Meet a Blossom Accents Bride! Angie and Richie Part One".

Green Orchid Wedding Invitations - New in the Studio!

These invitations are created for Paula. She contacted me back in July curious to know if I would be able to draw some green orchids! Of course I said- "would love to!" and I got to work.

I love how the artwork turned out. The green is so fresh and eye catching! In the photos you will also see the original drawing and my favorite Prismacolor pencils.

Another example of the Green Orchid Wedding Invitation.

Meet a Blossom Accents Bride! Kelly and Tim

Today I have the pleasure of sharing some fantastic photographs from one of our brides! Working with Kelly has been a blast! Her impeccable attention to detail is seen through out the reception to the ceremony.

It is obvious she adores sunflowers. The sunflower invitation from Blossom Accents Handmade and Artistic Stationery was the first glimpse the guests received prior to the celebrations. On the day of the wedding, these cheerful blossoms are seen in the bouquet, the bridesmaids hair, centerpieces, wedding programs and much more. Fantastic!

Navy blue and bright yellow were the dominating colors of this wedding theme. The groom and groomsmen were sporting grey suits with alternating yellow and navy ties. The gorgeous bridesmaids wore really elegant knee length dresses with cute yellow heels!

The memories were captured in all sorts of fun places! Ice cream shop, rail road tracks, porches and much more. All photography was the fine work of Michael Rastall.

Thank you for sharing Kelly and Tim! Wishing the two of you the best of what life has to offer! xo

My passion, inspiration, and love... Flowers!

Not too long ago, I reconnected with an old friend. She she told me about how she found my website BlossomAccents.com and was pleasantly surprised but not completely. She said to her friend "What did Agnes always draw in art class??".... she said "Flowers"! Of course what else?!

I've been a lover of flowers always and forever. There is just something powerfully wonderful about them, rather it's a bouquet of blooms or a single elegant stem, flowers are always enchanting! An inspiration to me at all times! I put together some personal photos of mine which touched me in some way, and yes that is me in the middle alongside some colorful blooms!

Beautiful Blooms

I love this photograph! It's so feminine and romantic. Anyways, the bouquet on this photo is a design by Beautiful Blooms, a stylish bouquet and event designer company located in Pennsylvania.  One of their signature touches is the addition of butterfly accessories to floral arrangements or bouquets  in the most unexpected and surprising places even in the most elegant designs. Love it!

Most Popular Wedding Flower Choices... continuation

Casablanca Lillies They have large, flat blooms which take up quite a bit of surface area and can really fill out a bouquet. Some people delight in the Casablanca lily's strong fragrance but others are allergic to it. One of my favorites is the white color with red interior Casablanca Lilly... soon coming to my invitation portfolio.

Gardenias are available all year. These richly scented flowers are a favorite among many brides. Available in many colors and are also wonderful when floated in shallow bowls as center pieces.Orchids are available year round depending upon their variety though their prices are subject to great fluctuation. Orchids are sensitive to cold and may bruise or drop blooms with rough handling during shipping. However, if the orchids reach the florist in great shape they can be tough as nails! Orchids are resistant to moisture loss and heat so they make great bouquet and body flowers.
Listed are some of the most frequently chosen flowers for weddings, but of course we have about a few hundred more to choose from. Hope you got inspired!

Most Popular Wedding Flower Choices

Are you having trouble picking a wedding flower? Here is a list of some of the most common flowers seen at weddings.

Roses A rose is a symbol of beauty and love. They are available in many colors and shapes, anything from full to slender blossoms. Available during every season of the year.

Tulips A tulip signifies "happy years". Available in a wide variety of colors and shapes through out most seasons. A mostly affordable choice for any bride. Mostly seen during spring and summer weddings.

Calla Lillies Also known as the arum lily, this elegant, trumpet-shaped blossom originated in Africa and symbolizes "magnificent beauty" in the language of flowers.
Hydrangeas With its big bushy head and intense shades of pink, blue, burgundy, and purple, it's no wonder that the hydrangea represented "vanity" in the Victorian language of flowers. One of the most popular varieties changes in color as it grows from bubble-gum pink to sky blue, depending on the acid level of the soil. Two or three blossoms and you have a magnificent bouquet.

Sweet Peas The sweet pea, which signifies "lasting pleasure," was first brought to England from Sicily in 1699, and the English have had a love affair with this delicate flower ever since. It's candy-like scent and ruffled blossoms make this an old-fashioned favorite in bouquets for the bride and her bridesmaids. Colors range from white to intense pinks and purples, and it's scent can be strong and sweet.

Come back tomorrow for five more worth mentioning wedding flower choices.
